ACTIVISM ON BEHALF OF YOUTH IN CARE IN THE STATE OF NEVADA

As a result of her ongoing work with youth in foster care, in 1999 she co-founded a non-profit, Child Focus, to provide services and resources to children in foster care and their families. Child Focus, now a part of St. Jude's Ranch for Children, still maintains Dr. Holland's vision where sibling events allow brothers and sisters to maintain contact with each other by providing events  throughout the year.

 - October 1, 2011 the Nevada Foster Care Bill of Rights  AB154 was enacted into law.  And on October 1, 2013, the Nevada Sibling Bill of Rights  AB393 became law.  Dr. Holland worked tirelessly writing and supporting these bills including lobbying in Carson City to raise visibility and ensure passage.

Desert Psychological's  training program provides opportunities to develop ethically and culturally competent professionals, from varying disciplines, who become capable of meeting and exceeding the standards of their specific licensing board(s).
