Dr. Sarah Ahmad empowers individuals to overcome mental health concerns that stand in the way of their happiness - to make significant changes for more balanced and satisfying lives. Experienced in a range of mental health issues that affect children and adults, Dr. Ahmad has assessed and diagnosed hundreds of clients with a range of symptoms and concerns throughout her career. Dedicated to improving the quality of her client's personal relationships and well-being, her cases include working with clients who experience depression, anxiety, trauma, adjustment issues, parenting challenges, and assistance in crisis intervention for children.
Dr. Ahmad has conducted neuropsychological testing for children who presented with a range of psychological concerns. These included learning disabilities, ADHD, and pervasive developmental disorder. As her desire to work with children and adolescents continued, she expanded into working with youth in the community, schools, foster care, and forensics. Through the family court system, her experience includes court custody evaluations, child interviews, parent coordination, reunification, and therapeutic supervised visitations, and working with high conflict families.
Certified in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dr. Ahmad's trauma cases include at-risk youth and adults exposed to transitional and life-threatening situations, as well as ongoing traumatic factors conceptualized as complex trauma. Specifically, she works with active duty military and veterans - providing therapy, psychological testing, compensation and pension assessments for our military members during and post service.
